“ Two witches, Itchy and Snitchy, rival each other for the Wizard Boo who wants to marry a princess. When the princess is to marry her chef, Dumpleton, Boo’s spell changes Dumpleton into a sleepy lion in the forest. The princess searches for the lion. They meet in the forest and although neither of them realize he is Dumpleton, they become ‘forever friends’. Meanwhile, the rivalry between the witches, their pursuit of Boo, and his own encounter with the lion, lead to fun filled adventures enhanced by song and audience participation. Finally, Boo’s spell is relinquished and all turns out well.”
About the Author
Florence Novelli, Poet & Playwright 1931-2014. Born Liverpool. Emigrated to Canada 1951. Co-founder (with Bernard Aaron) of Renaissance Theatre, specializing in writing and producing her ten all-original children’s plays with music by Aaron. First staged at Toronto’s Colonnade Theatre, her children’s musicals won overwhelming audience acclaim and were performed at the Canadian National Exhibition, the North York Centenary. theatre festivals in Ontario and Alberta, Roger’s Cable TV and “The best of ‘79”.
Canada’s Waterloo Music published one of her plays in 1975 followed by Playwrights Canada who printed all her scripts. Florence’s International Biographical Entries appear in “Who’s Who in Canadian Literature”, “Contemporary Authors vol. 112 (U.S.A.) “International Authors and Writers Who’s Who” (UK), “International Register of Profiles” (UK) and was member of ”The World Literary Academy” (Cambridge).
Bernard Aaron, born 1939 Newcastle-on-Tyne. Composer and teacher of classical guitar. Emigrated to Canada, 1967. Studied at Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music.
Working with Florence Novelli as a playwright-composer duo, their ten all-original children’s musicals won consistent public acclaim in theatre festivals, schools, libraries, hotels and business promotions. Bernard’s international biographical entries appear in” The International Who’s Who in Music” (UK),”The International Register of Profiles” (UK) ”The International Directory of Distinguished Leadership” (USA). Bernard Aaron taught guitar for boards of Education in Canada and England. Many of his all-original compositions were printed in international guitar magazines including “Classical Guitar” as well as by International guitar publishers. His 2015 work, “Mightier than the Sword” is the only ballet ever written for guitar and orchestra. Marrying Florence in 1999, Bernard’s deepest wish is for family audiences to enjoy their wonderful children’s plays.
